Yeah, well, this site really hasn't taken shape in the past three years. Recently some spambots found it and filled it up, but I fixed that. Until I add something to this site you can find me on Facebook. I found a couple of other trip-mates there.
January 10, 2010: USSR.jimnelson.us will be shut down. I still want to post photos and perhaps blog about the experience, but that can really be done on my personal blog, Facebook, Flickr or something along those lines. Meanwhile check out my Facebook page linked below.

In the fall of 1987 I was part of a People to People International student ambassador delegation to the USSR. The groups from Texas, New Mexico and Arizona traveled together to Helsinki, Lennigrad, Riga, Misnk, Smolensk, Kalinin and Moscow. Our group had a one-year reunion in 1988 but as far as I know has not reunited since. I recently created a website for my high school 20-year reunion and realized I'd much rather reunite with people from the USSR trip, so I am creating this site to discuss the experience and share photos.
There is a People to People Alumni Website, although I haven't made heads or tails of the member search yet, and I see no groups or forums dedicated to our trip.
I have several sites with blog, forum and photo gallery software, and I am setting this site up with all three. I have at least 20 rolls of film from the trip, and I have a high quality film scanner, so I will be sharing high quality photos of the trip.
